Our Process

Seven Steps to Your New Bathroom

Proper sequencing means no delays. Every trade works when they're meant to, with quality checked at every stage.

Step 1

Demolition and Prep

Safe removal of fixtures with dust barriers. All waste removed immediately. Your home stays clean and protected throughout.

Demolition and Prep
Step 2

Plumbing

Rough-in new pipe locations, pressure test all connections, coordinate waste positions with your design. This needs to be done right before anything else goes in.

Plumbing
Step 3

Electrical

Power points, lighting circuits, exhaust fans. All the electrical work for your new bathroom, done properly and tested before we move on.

Electrical
Step 4

Waterproofing

This is the stage most people never see, but it's one of the most important. The substrate is prepared, waterproofing is applied in multiple coats with proper drying times between each one, and everything is checked before tiling starts.

Waterproofing
Step 5

Tiling

With decades of tiling experience behind us, this is where the bathroom really starts to take shape. Tiles set level and square, precise cuts, consistent grout lines throughout.

Tiling
Step 6

Fixture Installation

Vanities, toilets, taps, shower screens. Everything installed properly and tested for leaks before we move on.

Fixture Installation
Step 7

Final Handover

Painting, silicone sealing, full cleanup. We do a complete walkthrough with you so you're happy with every detail before we call it done.

Why Cutting Corners Costs More

Why Cutting Corners Costs More

We see it happen a lot. A homeowner gets a few quotes, goes with the cheapest option, and ends up spending more fixing problems down the track than they would have spent doing it properly the first time.

Water Damage

The biggest one. When waterproofing isn't done properly, water gets behind tiles and into walls. You won't see it happening. By the time you notice - mould smell, soft flooring, stains appearing somewhere unexpected - the damage has already been building for months. Fixing it costs a lot more than getting it right the first time around.

Poor Quality Finishing

Cheap fittings and rushed tiling might look fine when they're first installed. A year or two later, grout is cracking, taps are dripping, tiles are lifting. You end up renovating again sooner than you should have to.

Inexperienced Trades

Bathroom renovations involve removing walls, relocating fixtures, and modifying plumbing and electrical systems. When these things aren't done by people who know what they're doing, the problems that show up later can be expensive and difficult to track down.

Edgewater Ensuite Transformation

Edgewater

Edgewater Ensuite Transformation

The Problem

1990s ensuite in a double-brick home. Water damage was showing in the ceiling below, and the owners needed to renovate before it got worse. They also needed to keep using the bathroom throughout because it was the only one upstairs.

The Solution

We scheduled the renovation in stages so they could use the bathroom every day. Shower area first, then the rest once that was done and usable. New waterproofing throughout, larger shower with floor-to-ceiling tiles and a niche.

The Result

Complete ensuite done in 3.5 weeks. No water damage issues since. The owners used their bathroom every single day during the renovation.

Joondalup Apartment Main Bathroom

Joondalup CBD

Joondalup Apartment Main Bathroom

The Problem

Small main bathroom in a Joondalup CBD apartment. Only 2.2m x 2.0m. The bathroom felt cramped, tiles were dated, and lighting was poor.

The Solution

Removed the bath and put in a larger shower with a glass screen. Wall-hung vanity to open up the floor space. Large format tiles to keep grout lines to a minimum.

The Result

Same size bathroom but it feels noticeably bigger. Modern, clean look. Done within body corporate work hour rules.

Burns Beach Family Bathroom

Burns Beach

Burns Beach Family Bathroom

The Problem

Original 1998 bathroom in a coastal area. Chrome fixtures were corroding from the salt air. The spa bath hadn't been used in years, and the family needed something more practical.

The Solution

Removed the spa bath and put in a shower over bath - much more practical with young kids. Upgraded to stainless steel fittings that handle the coastal environment. New exhaust fan to manage moisture properly. The owners sourced their own tiles from a sale which freed up budget for better fittings.

The Result

Way more functional for daily use. Fittings that will actually last in that location. Done within budget.

Local Knowledge

Joondalup-Specific Expertise

Apartments and Units

Joondalup has a lot of apartment and unit developments, especially around the CBD and near Lakeside. These come with extra steps - strata approvals, body corporate rules around noise and work hours, shared plumbing you can't touch. We deal with this regularly and know what's needed to get the job done without dramas.

Double-Brick Homes

A big chunk of Joondalup's established suburbs are double-brick homes from the 80s and 90's. Original bathrooms in these houses are showing their age. Renovating them means working with brick walls, running new plumbing through them, and making sure everything lines up properly. We've done plenty of these.

Coastal Areas

Edgewater, Burns Beach, and Iluka get hit by salt air. Chrome fixtures corrode faster out here. We factor that in and recommend fittings that are built to handle it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Joondalup?
It depends on the size of your bathroom, what fixtures and finishes you go with, and whether any structural changes are needed. Smaller ensuites come in at the lower end, larger family bathrooms at the higher end. We give you a detailed quote after visiting your property so you know exactly where you stand. No hidden costs.
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
Most jobs take 3 to 4 weeks from demolition to completion. Smaller ensuites can be done in under 3 weeks. Bigger jobs or ones that need structural work might take a bit longer. We give you a schedule upfront so you know what to expect.
Can I use my bathroom during the renovation?
No, it'll be out of action for the duration. If it's your only bathroom, we can talk through the options when we come to look at the job. Some people time it around holidays, others make other arrangements. We'll help you figure out what works.
Do I need council approval for a bathroom renovation in Joondalup?
Most bathroom renovations don't need council approval if you're staying within the existing footprint. If you're in an apartment or unit, you'll need strata approval. We handle the paperwork and let you know during the consultation if anything extra is needed.
Can you renovate my apartment bathroom in Joondalup?
Yes. We do apartment bathrooms regularly, especially around the CBD and Lakeside. Strata approvals, body corporate rules, the lot - we know the process and handle it.
Can I supply my own tiles and fixtures?
Absolutely. A lot of people prefer to source their own materials, especially if they've found something they like or spotted a good deal. We'll help you work out quantities and make sure everything arrives when it needs to.
What brands do you recommend?
We work with a range of quality brands that hold up well in Perth's conditions. We'll talk through the options with you during your consultation based on what you're after and your budget. For properties closer to the coast, we'll steer you toward fittings that handle salt air better.
How do I get started?
Give Ben a call or fill out the contact form and we'll be in touch within 24 hours. We come to your property, take a look at what you've got, talk through what you want, and give you a quote. No obligation.
